Fr. Steve Schreiber Pastor    814.456.6256

Our parishes were blessed to welcome Fr. Steve Schreiber as our pastor in July, 2024! He comes to us after having served 5 years as pastor of Holy Redeemer Parish in Warren, PA. He grew up in the eastern part of the Diocese of Erie, in Bradford, PA. His formation included time studying in Rome, where Pope St. John Paul II was, quite literally, his next door neighbor!

Fr. Steve has long had a heart for ministering to young people– perhaps a spiritual gift influenced by one of his favorite saints (and former next door neighbor!) who shared the same passion and gifts. Fr. Steve served for 5 years as the Director of Youth Ministry for the Diocese of Erie, and he has also been on faculty/chaplain for two diocesan high schools. He also has gifts of evangelization, which come through in his authentic and enthusiastic love for Christ and the Church. He has been asked to be a retreat leader and give parish missions across the diocese, and he also has been involved with the Divine Mercy Encounter retreat community.

Also, Fr. Steve has participated in leadership formation with The Amazing Parish, which has equipped him with skills necessary for facilitating the merger of the St. Paul community into Sacred Heart parish, as well as our new parish partnership with St. Joseph Church Bread of Life. Though he’s been here only a short time so far, he says can already see the specialness of the Sacred Heart community through the goodness and love of the people here, as well as the tremendous ministry to the poor and the young that is taking place from within this community.

Fr. Steve is a sports fan, enjoys daily walks, decompresses with jigsaw puzzles, and fills his cup by reading about the lives of the saints. When asked what brings him joy in his role, Fr. Steve says: “ I want every person to know and love our Lord, Jesus. Having been called to the priesthood, I am privileged to be about this task each day of my life. I am blessed beyond imagination.”
